In order to extend the service life of the company’s injection molds, produce more products, and create greater economic benefits, the following maintenance plan has been formulated:
1. Inspection and maintenance during mold installation
(1) Before installing the mold, clean the upper and lower surfaces of the injection mold to ensure that the mounting surface of the injection mold and the press work surface match correctly.
(2) After the mold is installed, open the mold, clean the mold guide mechanism and the surface of the mold cavity to ensure the quality of the parts.
(3) Lubricate or apply grease to each sliding part of the mold.
(4)Inspect and maintain the side guards and clean the punching waste channels and holes.
(5)Check the mold safety side pins, safety screws and other safety parts. If any problems are found, repair or replace them in time.
2. Maintenance during production
(1) Regularly lubricate the pressing ring, fillet of the drawing die, the cutting edge of the trimming die, and the flanging knife block.
(2) Regularly clean the waste channel of the small hole of the trimming and punching die.
(3) Frequently observe and feel the status of the mold during production. If any abnormality is found, stop the machine immediately for inspection and eliminate it in time. Start production after troubleshooting.
3. Post-production maintenance
(1) After production, a comprehensive inspection of the injection mold must be carried out.
(2) Conduct a comprehensive cleaning of the injection mold to remove waste materials and debris in the mold to ensure that there is no waste material in the waste box.
(3)Provide honest feedback on the problems found during the use of the injection mold, and record them in the handover order or notify the repair personnel to carry out repairs.
4. First and second level maintenance of molds
(1)The first-level maintenance of the mold is performed by production operators. The main contents of maintenance are cleaning, lubrication and inspection.
(2) The secondary maintenance work of the mold shall be completed by the mold repair personnel, and records shall be kept according to the maintenance status. The main contents of secondary maintenance:
- a. Polish the rounded corners of the mold. If there are pits, grind the mold.
- b. Repair and restore the guide parts found to be problematic during inspection.
- c. Repair welding and repair of chipping and collapse of the cutting edge during use of the mold.
- d. Replace damaged or failed springs and other elastic parts (pay attention to the specifications and models of the springs).
- e. Replace the punch sleeves that are broken, bent, chewed or damaged during the use of the mold.
- f. Check whether the fastening parts are loose or damaged. If so, replace it.
- g. Check whether the pressing plate and unloading plate are damaged, and repair the damaged parts if any.
- h. Check whether there is any leakage in the pneumatic system; if so, repair or replace it.
5. Maintenance of long-term injection molds
For injection molds that have been placed for a long time, maintenance should be arranged every two months. The method is to open the injection mold to remove dust and rust and apply oil to all parts of the injection mold.
