There is a solution worth mentioning for injection molding machines in terms of energy conservation and cost reduction, which is to purchase excess screw barrels and replace them when adjusting the color of injection molded products.

The function of the screw barrel of an injection molding machine is to transport, compact, melt, stir, and apply plastic. All these programs are completed by rotating the screw inside the barrel.

When the screw rotates, plastic will generate friction and mutual movement on the inner wall of the barrel, the bottom surface of the screw groove, the advancing surface of the screw edge, and between plastic and plastic.

The forward advancement of plastic is the result of this combination of movements, and the heat generated by friction is also absorbed to increase the temperature of plastic and melt it.

Usually, when using plastic materials of different colors, the remaining material in the barrel should be cleaned thoroughly. Usually, new colored raw materials are used to clean the material barrel, resulting in waste of raw materials and electrical energy.

Before using the replacement barrel, when processing products of different colors, the injection molding machine needs to first clean the barrel with transparent or white raw materials. Approximately 3-4 bags (50kg/bag) of raw materials need to be used each time;

With each replacement of different colored raw materials, 200kg of raw materials can be saved. Based on 500000 annual cleaning of the barrel and a raw material price of 25000 yuan/t, the annual cost savings can be 250000 yuan.
